portraits series - PT.4

FINAL SERIES:

after a lot of time and thought over these photographs I have edited and chosen 4. these 4 I feel represent how they work as a team. I have chosen one of them both individually and then two of them together. I choose to have individual ones to show that despite their team work they remain their own individual people - reflecting Anne's interview with me. also I love the photos of them as they are genuine. I love the one of Anne because the smile on her face is genuinely and that's really hard to capture, I find it utterly charming and honestly I adore it. I took this photo whilst the two of them were having a chat about plans for the following week and when Anne would be required to work.
I chose this one of Graham because I'm extremely proud of the composition. I like the natural lighting and the way it settles on his body. I think it clearly shows his difficulty standing and doing small tasks such as moving around. it also clearly shows the effected side of his body (Left). as you can see in the photo, his left hand and arm are incredibly stiff because he cant actually open his hand at will as a result of the stroke. however saying all this I think the photo still shows him as a strong male, because despite the stroke he still manages it, however difficult it may be, that doesn't matter because he fights through, its a quality I massively admire about Graham.

the next one is one I took whilst they were discussing Graham's pet dog Jasper. Graham walks the dog daily on his mobility scooter which is an activity he is more than able to complete on his own. however the lead used to walk the dog was the wrong length and this is what they were discussing. there are so many reasons as to why I love this photo. one of the main ones would be the expressions on their faces. Anne is smiling slightly whilst discussing it and Graham is looking up laughing as Anne makes a joke. this clearly shows the friendship between them and how they're not only employer and employee, how they genuinely care for one another. I love the genuine emotion and again I find it charming. I also like the fact I was able to get Jasper in the photo, I feel like it brings the whole photo together.
finally the last photo I have chosen for my series is this one. I felt like I needed to use this photo because it shows the most clearly the way in which Anne helps Graham move around and get to places safely. it represents the trust between them and how he relies on her. I took this after he had exited the car and they were walking back to Graham's home which was only a minute from the car. but it shows how they accomplish things as a team no matter the size of the task. I love the way the photo speaks for itself in that its clear what is happening.
