Dance film - Final choices
Final choices:
People: after auditions/watching the audition tapes, i have finally decided on my contributors. for ages 10 i have chosen 11 year old Keira Ayling, trained in street and break dance with elements of tap, modern and contemporary. for age 14/15 i have chosen Mel Gilbert, age 17, trained in various styles but especially street and break dance. and finally for age 17-present i have chosen Laura Hardie, 17 years old, trained in contemporary, musical theatre and performance based movement.
Location: i have decided that for both filming and rehearsing i will be at my home, (address on production pack) in farnham. my reasons for this being because my home will help portray a family environment reflecting my childhood, also it is easier than trying to book a studio.
Costume: for Keira i have decided on leggings and a high neck, bright coloured top of some description, keeping her more covered and presenting a more age appropriate, child like appearance. for Mel, i have gone with a band t-shirt that would've been relevant when i was 14/15, something like guns and roses. black leggings/ripped jeans (if shes comfortable dancing in them), something more age appropriate and reflective of teenage angst. and finally for laura, i have said something a normal 18 year old would wear, my preferences being dark, leggings, sports wear perhaps? but the key is for it to be dark and comfortable.
make up: for keira, no mae up, her hair will be half up and half down, reflecting how i used to wear my hair as a child. for Mel I've asked for heavy blacks and greys in her make up, heavy eye shadow, hair down. and for Laura I've asked for her hair up and minimal make up to reflect her being okay and accepting herself as she is.
Equipment: using a GH4, one set of lights, and a prime lens kit.
Rehearsals: planning to rehearse the week leading up to the shoot which will be the 9th-13th of April.
filming dates: weekend of the 14th and 15th of April. 12-6pm each day for dancers and 11:30-6:30 for crew.
